Brian Spencer, AIAAs Big Green Zero’s Principal Architect, Brian Spencer is advancing the integration of sustainable energy into the philosophy and practice of sustainable architecture. This integration is supporting BGZ clients in their efforts to create healthier, more productive environments and to achieve small, green energy bills.

Brian is a licensed architect in multiple states and brings more than forty years of architectural experience to sustainable energy projects.

Brian Spencer has worked throughout the United States and internationally in Sweden, Italy, Russia, Bulgaria and the Pacific Rim on advanced technology manufacturing, educational, cultural, civic, corporate office and commercial facilities, as well as restoration and historic preservation sites. He served as a member of the Los Angeles Community College District's bond management team with direct oversight on the redevelopment of two of the District's campuses, monitoring twenty-eight design firms and accounting for the investment of nearly four hundred million dollars in new construction and renovations.

Brian has lectured on historic and contemporary architecture at over seventy major institutions in twenty-one countries. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and is one of only six American architects elected into the Russian Academy of Architecture & Construction Sciences (PAACH). He is a Professor and Academician in the International Academy of Architecture (IAA - Europe) and has been elected Honorary Professor in four European universities.

Brian studied architecture at the University of Illinois and Ball State University. His studies at Indiana University were in fine and liberal arts.
