LED Lighting
In buildings that burn a large number of lights during extended hours, the energy consumed by lighting can exceed 40% of the total energy bill. In those situations, converting conventional fixtures and bulbs to Big Green Zero LED lighting can produce substantial cost savings.
The cost of LED bulbs has been
declining and LEDs last 10 to 25
times longer than their conventional
counterparts. In addition, LEDs
consume only a fraction of the
energy required by equivalent
conventional lamps.
Combining solar photovoltaic (PV)
panels with LED lighting can provide
considerable environmental as well
as cost benefits.
In buildings with intensive lighting requirements, the installation of Big Green Zero LED lighting can be a big step toward achieving a Big Green Zero.
